Selling SOA to the CEO - ITBusinessEdge
![]() Selling SOA to the CEO |
| SOA will be huge again this year. Sticking points are still testing, performance and security. The difference is that big vendors won't be bickering about SOAP, XML and WSDL. Moreover, CEOs are warming up to the idea of SOA, so be prepared to explain it in laymen's terms, with analogies to ordering a credit check, perhaps. Throwing in the fact that implementing SOA is a top cost-cutting measure won't hurt either. One firm reportedly saved 12,000 person-days in development tasks with SOA. Once the CEO is convinced, some suggest that using two development teams (one to expose functionality and one to deal with user interfaces and business processes) is your best bet for improving efficiency. |
